Finally... a website dedicated to boxer dogs and how to care for your new boxer dog!
Hello Fellow Boxer Dogs Lover,
I'm so glad you landed here at my boxer dogs-lovers website! Aren't boxers great? Just one look into those big brown eyes and I melt... it never fails!
But I wasn't always a boxer lover...
It all started on a cold January day in 1996. My 11-year old daughter had been begging for a dog of her own for weeks, but we already had a poodle, and I just couldn't see adding a second dog into our already crowded condo-living family. But then we met Lucy...
My girls (I also had an older daughter, who was 14 at the time)—bored on that cold winter day—asked if we might go a new pet store, called Shake-a-Paw, where you could actually touch and play with the puppies, who were in open crates on the floor. I agreed, on the condition we were "just looking."
There were about 15 dogs in residence that day, but right away we noticed a little fawn-colored boxer with big, limpid, brown eyes and the sweetest face I'd ever seen on a dog. None of us could resist her. We asked to take her in the play room and had fun for about half an hour romping with her.
Before I knew it, I was seriously considering buying her... to the tune of $800 bucks!
I couldn't believe I was even thinking about it. I mean, for weeks, I'd been telling my daughter no, and now I was that close to saying "yes"... all over a pair of brown eyes?
Anyway, We named our new darling Lucy and it's her image you'll find throughout this site. Isn't she sweet? Lucy turned out to be everything we'd hoped for... and more. She loved all of us, was a rowdy playmate for my energy-filled daughters, and was kind and tolerant of our older poodle. She did her best to protect us and brought endless love and joy into our lives.
Sadly, our little angel Lucy was only with us for 6 short years, before she succumbed to a brain tumor. We were devastated to lose her, but over time I've come to realize she was like our own little personal doggie angel, sent to us to teach us about unconditional love and unbridled joy. We'll never forget Lucy and we'll always lover boxer dogs. Someday, I hope to have another boxer.
So, anyway, I decided to build this site as a sort of memorial to Lucy and to share my love for boxers with the world. I hope you enjoy it.
Warmest regards,
